Connect Appointments is currently seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join our client's team in Shildon. This is a permanent opportunity to take the lead in a well-established manufacturing environment, managing a small team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

What's on offer:

Competitive salary: 30,000 to 35,000 (depending on experience)
Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week)
Regular hours (Monday to Friday - no weekends!)

Key responsibilities as a Factory Manager:

Manage daily production schedules to meet targets and deadlines
Allocate work and lead a team of 5-7 production operatives
Operate and oversee the use of woodworking machinery (beam saws, edge banders, etc.)
Check incoming deliveries for accuracy and completeness
Maintain a clean, organised, and Health & Safety-compliant workspace
Ensure all staff wear appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures
Contribute to a productive and positive working environment

What we're looking for:

Proven experience in a factory or workshop management role
Hands-on knowledge of beam saws, edge banders, and similar equipment
Basic understanding of CNC machines (preferred but not essential)
Strong team leadership and organisation skills
Attention to detail, especially in managing production and inventory
Forklift licence preferred but not essential
Health & Safety conscious with a proactive approach
